AffiREC® Chikungunya Virus Mutant (A226V) E1 Envelope Protein (Insect Cells)
CAT# AFG-NTG-0495
Size: 0.5 mg
Overview:
Chikungunya virus mutant (A226V) E1 envelope protein is produced in insect cells. It is composed of amino acids 67-482 of the Chikungunya E1 protein. However, at position 226 the Alanine of the wild-type CHIKV E1 gene was mutated to Valine. This point mutation was shown to be responsible for an increased capacity of CHIKV strains to infect and replicate in Aedes albopictus, facilitating virus transmission to a naive human population.
